Elana grew up in the Monterey area developing her passion for dance and community, later transferring to UCSC to finish her degree in Anthropology. She loves the Santa Cruz area but also enjoys traveling and writing about the different cultures she experiences. Elana hopes to grow the Satellite community through providing a warm and welcoming environment and creating community building events to benefit her members.
Becca has an award-winning background as an executive producer of television magazine shows, news programs and documentaries. She is the Executive Director of Community Television of Santa Cruz County and Community Media Access Partnership in Gilroy, CA. In addition to a deep content expertise in health programs, Ms. Reed has produced numerous news and public affairs programs, live events, and cultural and performance programs. She has produced in the field, in studio, on sound stages, via satellite and microwave, and for local and national broadcast or syndication.
Jay keeps the tech world of The Satellite humming, from broadband to data networks to cloud infrastructure to videoconferences and VoIP phones. Raised in Chicago, he started a small computer company years ago, learning on the job. He’s run IT for motorhome dealerships and dabbled in the logging industry, but specializes in network management.
